Talking with a model: Natalia Vodianova

She had a cheap lighter with pink heart which didn't want to flash, it went out each time she tryed to smoke.

- I waste your time, sorry - she whispered, making the first small cloud of menthol smoke.
-Oh, no! It is even pleasant to me (interviewer said). To whom it won't be pleasant? Blue sea, blue sky, the sun is shining and one of the most demanded topmodel on a planet - Natalia Vodianova - is sitting next to me and smoking. Touching, with this hands, with these a little bit crying-like blue eyes. It was impossible to imagine another girl for the role of Bulgakov's Lolita. She looks like Romie Shny(a)ider , my favourite actress.
When I tell this to her she agrees: Yes-yes, very often people compare me to her. It is said that she was a very good actress...
Circumstanses and a goal of our interview is prosaic enough...interview on the terrace of Martinez hotel, where these days in Cannes Loreal co. organizes meetings with stars and carries out different adv. actions.
- Do you like spending time in Cannes? - I ask.
- Yes, I do, but I would like to come here with my own film...sometimes...in the future... - Natasha answeres.

- So...you want to become an actress?
- Very much! But let's not talk about it now.

- Why?
- Because I don't have any film now.
- So imagine you are playing a role in some film, what are your major conditions?

- I want Justin and Lucas to be with me.
- You never part with them?

- Almost. I just miss them so much when they are not next to me.
- Do you have any ideal in a model business?
- Yes, I have. It's Stells Tennant. She is very beautiful and kind, she also has 3 children.
Nowadays the "children question" is especially actual for Vodianova. She became an initiativer(?) of a special project "Children's playgrounds in Russia". The idea is to build special playgrounds in small towns so that children may come there to communicate, play different active games and to be looking under pedagogues absolutely free. Actually it will be special sport clubs where you can come without any limitations. The project is already worked out, money are saved and the first playground will be opened in her native Nignij Novgorod.
- How much will it cost? - I'm curious
-Something around 30.000(a.r. dollars I suppose). But it is not too expensive. There are so many rich people in Russia nowadays...
And she looks like she is waiting me to agree. But I don't say a word because I know that money which were saved are her own in a half, and the second part was saved by Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan. Somehow they are interested in our waif children.

- I have already had so much luck that now it's time to think about others. That's why I wanted to to do something for our people. You know...I like to make presents much!
Can you give me a present?
- Which one?
- Give me your lighter.
- But it doesn't work.

- It's not important. I even don't smoke.
Natasha began laughing clearly and then she presented this ligher to me by her princess-like gesture just like it was Cannes Palm branch

getting higher and higher

Fashion magazines and sites assure us of wearing sandals and shoes on high heels and platforms. Style.com says:"No sleek stilettos please. Chunky-heel platforms are a perfect match for spring's no-frills silhouette.!" What can I say, try but be careful and do not fly like poor Stam in those Chloe shoes.

This summer's colour: white

WHITE: Black ruled for winter, but everything has lightened up for summer and you can wear white from top-to-toe once the sun comes out. From full length skirts to sexy cropped pants, slick accessories and plenty of broderie anglais prettiness, it's romantic and edgy and cool - and anything you want it to be. Roll on summer.

Model's secrets: Anja Rubik

Anja Rubik is one of the most popular Polish models and one of my favourites as well...What makes her look so beautiful all the time, how does she take care of what she got from God, what does she have in her bag and other secrets... Anja clues them for us...
big thanx to kasi6 (TFS)

In my bag I always have...
"Embryolisse face cream, protective lip balm Blistex and press powder Lumizing Color Powder from Shiseido."

I have an amazing figure...

"Because I inherited from my mum great matabolism. But in spite of that I'm careful about things that I eat. I eat often but in small portions. I try to go to the gym regularly, but because of tight calendar my laziness often wins."

From makeup artists I've learnt...
"That you always have to moisturize your skin before putting any makeup, and then right sequence: first base, foundation, then concealer and a little of powder at you forehead, nose and chin. I've also learnt to use special brush, which is prinkled with hair spray, for my eyebrows. Due to that they look really great and keep good shape for all day."

My biggest beauty sin...

"I can't let myself for any beauty sins because being beauty is my job. And chocolate isn't bad for my skin so it isn't a sin."

During my typical day...

"I put on my skin only concealer and a little of powder. But when I'm going out I like to use MAC's black crayon, for my eyes."

From my mum I've learnt...
"Take care of my skin, use creams regularly and suitables lotions for my skin. But first of all, I've learnt to protect my skin from excessive sun. So I always use creams with filter SPF 15."

My favourite fragrance...
"At home I always have couples fragrances and I use them depending on my mood. Currently my favourite are Miss Dior Cherie and Euphoria from Calvin Klein."

I take care of my hair very much...
" Because I have a little obsession about them. Due to my job they are constantly sprinkled with huge amount of products, modeled and washed almost every day. So I try to cut them regularly and 10 minuts before washing them I put on them nutritious oil Neem Olkur from Dr.Hauschka. I also use strenghtener shampoo Bain de Force from Kerastase and conditioner without rinsing off from Bumble and Bumble."

When I'm backstage and I'm waiting for show, I always...
"The most often I try to read a book. But when it's too loud to concentrate I talk with girls."

After all day walking on catwalks in heels...
"I do massage for my feet, and in my heels I always rub semi-skimmed cream Dermosan from GlaxoSmith Kline."

Cosmetics which are always with me...
"Very delicate cleanser Crealine H2O and lotion Hydraphase from La Roche-Posay."

Pre-fall campaigns

There is a new thing for fame fashion houses - so called pre-campaigns. I don't know exactly why some brands began to shoot and publish them, but it must be worth-while if they do it. I don't complain.
Here are some we have for now...

Golden Vogue

Vogue Russia June 2006.
cover
Tanya D by Lee Broomfield.
This issue is devoted to gold, the most precious and desirable material of this summer’s collections. Designers have proven that the place of gold in fashion is eternal, and that this king of metals should be worn, valued and respected.
However, despite our knowledge of the gold of the ancient Summerians, and the gold of the communist party, we still don’t know why gold has always provoked such universal lust and greed. And even though we use the stuff to gild monuments, or even stretch it into such fine thread that it seems like silk, it is still unclear what practical benefit it can bring us.
But one thing is clear: the celestial brilliance of dresses from Burberry Prorsum, LouisVuitton and Anna Molinari, the metallic sheen of Emilio Pucci coats and the clink of glittering bracelets from Bottega Veneta are enough to forgive gold all the mortal sins and all the souls it has driven to perdition.
